Still Turning Pages
Have been attempting to designate all free time to reading The Book Thief since Tuesday night as it was due at the library Thursday on my sister's card! Have even been depriving myself of crocheting with the 15 new colors of thread that arrived in the mail Tuesday!
Finally passed the halfway point last night. But can't let up the pressure as the grace period ends Monday evening.
The story is everything I was anticipating. I am triply in awe that the author appears in his photo to be still in high-school. He's not, I'm sure. Probably closer to 25 than 15 but still. This isn't even his first published novel. His metaphors and similes are fresh, startling and just right. The intricacy of the plot lines competes with that of a single thread in one of my crocheted bookmarks.
OK. Back to turning the pages.
