Monday Poetry Train #30
I've still got nothing new of my own. So this week I give you a quote from the poet Rainer Maria Rilke:
If your everyday life seems poor, don't
blame it; blame yourself; admit to
yourself that you are not enough of a poet
to call forth its riches; because for the
creator thee is no poverty and no poor
indifferent place.
That was heading the thought for the day on the January 25 entry of Sarah Ban Breathnach's Simple Abundance: A Daybook of Comfort and Joy which I featured in my Sunday Serenity post yesterday. It spoke to me as chiding, exhortation, and challenge. For too long I've been blaming everything but my own laziness and fear that are truly at the root of my lack of productivity.
