Following are rules for qualifying your entry and ways for increasing your chances to win so read with care.

OK. I learned a lot from my first book giveaway in July. I learned that as fun as it is to be a party to giving away books, I cannot afford the time, eyestrain or anxiety involved in chasing down contact info for a large number of entrants. So I am requiring entrants to provide an email to qualify either in their comment on this post using DOT and AT in place of the symbols or via email at joystoryATgmailDOTcom with subject Back to School Giveaway.

The purpose of typing an email with the CAPS in place of the respective symbols is to prevent the web bots from scavenging our emails and using them to spam us. I won't use your email for any other purpose than to inform you in case of a win. But without that @ your entry will be disqualified. (To clarify: your entry is the comment you leave here. Emailing me with your @ is not an entry just an alternate way to provide your @ to qualify your entry in case you prefer not to leave it in comments. Be sure that I can match the @ to the entry if you do email it.)

If in the case of a win you would like your name in the winner's post to be linked to your URL then be sure either your comment or your email includes it as that was another thing I spent extra time tracking down last time.

It took me over six hours to compile the lists for the four separate drawings out of four separate posts last time, hence I am conducting this giveaway out of a single post but holding the contest open for 10 days--until NOON Pacific Coast Time September 11, 2008.

You don't have to have a blog or website to enter.

You can enter even if you won a previous giveaway on Joystory.

Hachette will be shipping the box and requires a NON PO Box mailing address in the US or Canada. You won't need to provide this unless I notify you that you won.

Now in order to encourage you to help me spread the word here are two ways you can get extra credit:

1. Blog about this contest and send the post's URL to joystoryATgmailDOTcom with subject Back to School Giveaway and I will add a second incarnation of your name to the drawing.

2. Your name will be entered again each time another entrant mentions you in their entry comment on this post as the one who sent them. Whether they learned via your blog or another way is irrelevant. Just be sure they know to refer to you by the same name or screen name with which you entered.

Do understand that noone can win more than once in this contest so I will draw names from the 'pot' until I have 5 unique winners.

As my friend hondaray6 (who sent me here btw) says: Maine winters are long and dreary, so nice reading material always make those cold, snowy days go by fast! I would also love the chance to win some books!
