Monday Poetry Train #9

I AM WILLING
by Joy Renee

Willing to thrive
And not deprive
My soul from abundant
Trusting.

Willing to live
Perforce to give
Of self to kindred
Being.

Willing to love,
Be interwove
In all in all
Communing.

Willing to hope
And to devote
All that I am to
Rejoicing.

(c) 2007 Joy Renee

I chose this poem today to help remind me of that necessary state of mind for tapping into the creative process. I lost my way late last week. Still groping my way back. I mean, I went from posting about falling in love with my storyworld on Monday to posting total surrender in the wee hours of Friday morning. I was waving the white flag and not just at Sven but at the whole writing business. Not that I could ever not write. What a roller coaster ride this week has been.

8 tell me a story:

Ah Joy - this was wonderful!
It also made me think of the gesture of arms reaching out - which can be both a giving and a receiving.

I loved this:
Willing to live
Perforce to give
Of self to kindred
Being.

You got me here, I have trust issues.

I liked the poem. Thanks.

I have been there. It is. Writing is the wildest ride I've been on yet.
Great poem!

The roller coaster is what we want, innit?
Is not all else grass?
Is not all else drudgery?
Is not all else Valium?

I got such a positive energy from this, I can't believe it. I'm all but jumping up and down and shouting Yahoo. (neither of which I can do because of the cat on my lap)

Don't give up hope. I've found that when I have those darker, frustrated periods, I come back stronger than ever.

What a triumphant opening to the poem. Don't give the necessary step-back more power than it has. Catch your breath and keep going. You don't want to deprive your soul.

Great work, I also got the positive vibe! Thanks for the inspiration.

Great poem. You can do it! Just remember when riding the roller coaster, please make sure your arms and legs (and head) are in the car at all times *g*.
